PMC National MDCAT 2023 Explained [Syllabus + Date + Registration ]

Pakistan medical commission is the new name of PM&DC. But unlike PMDC, PMC will conduct national mdcat 2023. PMC is the new regulatory authority. It’s for medical and dental colleges in Pakistan.

Pakistan medical commission PMC was formed last year. PMDC was dissolved. As a result of the Presidential ordinance. National mdcat 2023 will be under it. PMC is a regulator for medical education in Pakistan.

Earlier this year, IHC issues a verdict. By which PMDC was again formed. But now the government again establish PMC. It is a short story about PMC.

What is Pakistan Medical Commission PMC ?

This year mdcat test will be under PMC. It is called national mdcat 2023. It is national because it is the same for the whole country.
All students from Pakistan. Who wants to get admission in medical and dental colleges. We will have to take national mdcat. One entry test throughout Pakistan.
At first, Sindh and kpk disagree. However, now they also seem to agree with the federal government. Punjab agrees with the PMC decision.
Before this, uhs take an admission test. The University of health sciences Lahore takes the mdcat test each year. But this time, Pakistan medical commission.
Previous year every province takes its entry test. In Sindh, nts perform this job. In AJK and Gilgit uhs. While in kpk, it is eata. This year there will be a national level entrance test.
First, uhs announce that it will conduct the mdcat test. It was supposed to be on 18 October. NUMS will conduct this year’s national mdcat 2020.

What is national mdcat 2020 ?

As the name suggests, it is national. It means for the whole nation. All students have to take one test: the same syllabus and same conducting body.

This mbbs Admission test will fall under nums. Nts, organize it—one admission policy throughout Pakistan.

Admission Policy for Mdcat 2023

Admissions in medical and dental colleges will be under Pakistan medical commission. All admission process will follow strict merit for purposes of seeking admission to a medical or dental college.

There are two categories of students; Pakistani Students and Foreign Students. Regulations regarding admission are as follow.

  • It is only applicable for secession 2022-2023. It is also for private medical colleges.
  • Must pass the mdcat examination by PMC. Passing marks are 60%.
  • Classes must be from 15 February 2021.

Revised Syllabus for National Mdcat

Pakistan medical commission announces the syllabus for mdcat 2020. The first commission announces a syllabus.

However, after the Twitter controversy, it changed its syllabus. For two days, PMC was trending on Twitter. All students reject PMC issued syllabus.

In response to this situation, Commission issues a new, improved syllabus. It also uploads a clarification on the PMC website. You can download the syllabus below.

Hope now students can prepare better. According to new syllabus.

MDCAT Registration Process

For faster admission process. In medical and dental colleges of Pakistan. Pakistan medical commission launches an online portal. Through this portal students can register for mdcat online.

Mdcat registration will start from 22 October 2020. Last date for mdcat registration 2020 is 2nd November 2020. Here is a short procedure to register online for mdcat 2020.

  1. For PMC- MDCAT 2022-23, please visit www.pmc.gov.pk.
  2. click the MDCAT Portal link to get registered. fill in the application form online.
  3. Register by using CNIC/B-Form number/passport number, mobile number and
  4. email address.
  5. Login to your account .
  6. fill the application form (Personal & Academic Information etc.), upload the following

Documents Required

i) Passport size latest photograph with blue or white background
ii) CNIC/ B- Form/NICOP or Passport.
After the application form is saved. Candidates will be prompted to print the fee challan.
Candidates have to deposit the fee challan. Generated through online application in

any branch of HBL, ABL, or MCB in cash by 2nd November, 2020.

Fee amount is Rs. 1500. Candidate is required to scan. Attach the paid copy of the fee challan by logging back in to MDCAT portal account.


After uploading the paid copy of the fee challan. Please click the “Final Submit” button to submit your application. (Candidate has to make sure that information is entered correctly before final submission).

The system will prompt the candidate to print the final application form.
Candidate will send the signed application form along with the original PMC copy
of the paid fee challan to “National Testing Service Pakistan, Plot 96, Street 4, H-8/1, Islamabad”.

Any fake information/ document submission will result in blacklisting of the candidate.

Test date for national mdcat is 15 November. This is announced by PMC. This is final date. And will not be changed. It’s on official twitter account of Pakistan medical commission.

Registration fees for mdcat 2020 are RS 1500. Nts set it. Nts will conduct this year mdcat test. Unlike the previous year, where the price was RS 500. This year national university of medical sciences will take mdcat. That’s why fees are a bit higher than the uhs admission fee.

MDCAT registration the last date is 2 November 2020. It will be from 22 October to 2 November. Officials can change mdcat date.

International students can also seek admission in medical and dental colleges of Pakistan. In this category, there are two types of international students Foreign and Pakistani dual nationality holders.

PMC Admission eligibility for Foreign Students

These students can take admission in the following way. Each public and private medical and dental college has a quota. It’s the choice of every province to allow quota seats.

Overseas can apply to these seats. PMC will calculate Mdcat Merit upon the following formula. A Foreign Student may use for the preparation of Merit to a Private College based on having Obtained the MDCAT result, OR SAT II results in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Maths.
The ratio given to every score for calculating cumulative score equivalenced to MDCAT shall be Biology: 40%, Chemistry: 30 percent, Physics/Maths: 20%. English is not necessary if the student has got their HSSC qualification from a program taught primarily in English.

Merit Formula for mdcat admission

Merit Formula for admission in medical and dental colleges is as follow

  • Fsc is 40%
  • MDCAT is 50%
  • Matric is 10%

PMC mbbs merit list

PMC will announce Merit list for mbbs and bds in December. First provisional PMC merit list will after 15 December.

Medical and dental college classes will start on 15 February. It is the deadline date given by Pakistan medical commission. The admission process in medical and dental colleges will complete by 31 December 2020.

Admission in Private Medical and dental colleges

Aga Khan and Nums can conduct admissions. In medical colleges affiliated with them. Pakistan medical commission PMA will apply a centralized policy. But for admission in other Private Medical and dental colleges.

All admissions will be under PMA supervision. A three member committee will supervise private medical College admission.
